ARTISTS WHO I WISH WERE STILL ALIVE

how many times have you discovered an artist by its death? well, that happened to me several times. it's super strange how you don't appreciate someone enough as an artist, you barely know about them or listen to their music and then one day this massive social media explosion happens saying that someone who managed to touch millions of people's hearts is now dead. the world is going crazy, newspapers writing about this tragedy, internet is flooded with sorrow, and you're just like „who's the person?“. then you start reading about them, listening to them, watching videos online, catching up with the world, and suddenly you start to regret not knowing about them for that long. so here's the three ,in my opinion, most influential artists that the world should know about. even though the world already knows, there's a new generation growing who might regret (as I did) not knowing them early enough.

BOB MARLEY|it's such a shame for me to write about Marley because not so long ago I didn't even know about his music and about the work he has done. however, he's an amazing artist who brought joy to the world and most importantly - reggae. one of the things I love about him is that his music is so peaceful, so bright but at the same time it carries an important message representing some kind of social issue. with all the music he wrote, he united a lot of people and helped them to fight some of the injustice happening at the time (70's, 80's). for those who want to know more about Bob Marley's personal life and the process of how he made his music, what encouraged and influenced him, I strongly recommend you to watch his biography „Marley“. usually I find biographies boring but this one is worth watching.

AMY WINEHOUSE| to me Amy Winehouse is someone mysterious, dark and unrevealed. but that's why she is so interesting as an artist. i don't admire her as a person but she's a damn good musician and I always enjoy listening her music. I guess all the genres she did really appeal to me. she worked in soul, jazz, rhythm and blues, and reggae. to be honest, these are the genres that I would like to do as a musician. and talking about her image, she was super unique. I mean, look at her hair! however, the fact she would go on stage drugged or drunk is really upseting. I wish she cared more about herself and the success she had. but. we can't deny that she was talented! so, go listen to her music, guys.

MICHAEL JACKSON| this is the coolest artist I've ever seen. just before writing this post I started watching old videos and interviews with Michael (I'll leave some links below) and all I have to say is that he is magical. I started with just one video and then I couldn't step back, I kept watching one after another because he's the most interesting person ever. he's weird. strange, not like others but in a best way possible. but even though I enjoy listening and watching him, I don't believe that everything he ever said on television is true. I think that he liked manipulating the audience and he knew perfectly how to do it. but. it doesn't mean at all that he was a bad person. I can just imagine how hard his life was - everything he did and everywhere he went, he was followed so I perfectly understand his need to hide some things from the public eye and keep it to himself only. and we can't judge him. he entertained us all of his life and he definitely gave us his best. I don't know about you but I think that his music is immortal and that he managed to be the greatest of the greatests.
