greetings, friends. this is gonna be something new that we want to try out. it's called „monthly favorites“. it's basically about new things that we found out through the month. movies, books, artists, songs, events, apps and other things we find simply interesting, useful or just worth sharing with the world. let's start and see how it works.
monthly favorite TV SERIES glee
I've been a huge fan of this TV series since it came out. probably because it's connected with music and I was just amazed how music and all the song performed on this show perfectly reflects the plot. I guess Ryan Murphy is a genius. And now season 6 is out so i'm very curious whats gonna happen. for those who have not seen it, i urge you to watch it. and i'm definitely gonna watch other Murphy's masterpieces.
monthly favorite ARTIST Kate Bush
to be honest, a month ago i didn't even know who Kate Bush is. For those like me, she is a British singer/songwriter who basically invented popular, modern music. actually i was assessed in college to write analysis about her and i was forced to listen her music. after analyzing her music and her as a performer i could now say that she is something refreshing to me. i found someone with unique, unusual voice and great songs. she might seem weird but that's the most interesting thing about about her. even though her era was ten years ago, i think everyone should know who Kate Bush is and what changes she made towards music.
monthly favorite EVENT London art fair 2015
you may think that if i'm a musician, i should be into arts as well. well, the truth is - i'm not. don't get me wrong. art is beautiful and etc. but sometimes i just don't get it. you may see some deep thoughts in art pieces but i usually don't. but. London art fair was something mind-blowing. i wanted to buy every painting in the gallery. okay, not every but most of them. i cannot critically comment on those artworks , that's more Elena's area, so i'll just leave you here, saying that i really super liked it.
monthly favorite PLACE British library
it's basically the newest place me and Elena found recently. this is where i'm currently writing this post. it's really inspiring here and if you live in London or just came to visit, you should definitely go and see „the British library“. we are trying to get an access to library's resources but it's kind of a difficult process. we'll see how it goes but yeah, i think we found the right place for writing.
monthly favorite BOOK 1001 songs you must listen before you die
an amazing book which i would recommend for all musicians and not only! either you are musician or just really enjoy listening to music, this book will widen your musical knowledge. okay, it starts to sound like a commercial. but what i want to say, we don't really imagine how many songs are written? there are shitty songs and there are good songs but to understand what you like and what you don't, you first have to listen. that's what i think this book is about. by the way, it's a perfect present for any musician. i know it 'cause I've got it for Christmas from Elena. i really enjoy this book. especially when it helps me to write reviews.
